Do they expire? I bought YNAB last year but didn't use it. This year I really absolutely have to get into it but I'm useless at this sort of thing.

@Mrs. Grizzly Bear: Nope, it's essentially buying software. There might be updated versions in the future, but what you bought will always work as it does now.

@littlebug: you can buy it now then DL Steam later! then get the product key from Steam, dl the YNAB trial from the main site, then enter product key and delete Steam!

@mrs. bird: Definitely pay the $15 and have it not expire. I got it for 50% off but I've never seen it for 75% off.

@mrs. bird: I think Steam does this sale twice a year (once in the summer and again in the winter), but of course there's no guarantee that it will happen again. For the free student subscription, you have to provide proof annually. I guess it would be better to have it forever for $15, but I think it's just for this version? So if v.5 comes out in the future, you would have to pay all over again (but could still use v.4 forever and ever).

Yay! I love seeing new HBers getting started with YNAB, it haas changed our lives. For anyone considering it and who is worried about a hesitant spouse, I had one of those and now HE tells people that they should get YNAB
