Just looked at Amazon -- looks like the back zip shows photos with no zipper?

@MsLipGloss: I know... If my husband wouldn't kill me I would totally order a pair... I need to convince him tonight.. I thought after we got back the positive test results he would let me buy them, no question.

@Smurfette: you'll see some places that will mention what size shoe the measurements are based on. But usually they don't say that, so it makes it confusing for people.

@pregnantbee: I see that. I'm thinking they have the description wrong and those are the pull on ones. Are you looking for the zip up ones?

This is the one I ordered:

    http://www.amazon.com/FRYE-Melissa-Button-Zip-Vintage/dp/B00AX4LMI2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1387394625&sr=8-3&keywords=frye+melissa+button+back+zip

@mrskc: I'm not necessarily looking, but from time to time I lust after their boots. I was just confused about the difference in styles between back zip and not since the pics didn't have any zipper in them here. The title says Back Zip, but then the description doesn't include zipper, nor do the photos:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VECRU4/ref=s9_simh_gw_p309_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_r=17V56KEJ1XRNR9HPF7W4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200322&pf_rd_i=507846

So I'm thinking they need to remove "Back Zip" from the listing title?

@pregnantbee: I think they need to remove the "back zip" from the title. Those are the pull on ones. The ones I linked to are the back zip ones.

I asked Santa for these when they were 25% off from amazon a couple of weeks ago, and am pretty sure I will get them. I think I am getting brown but I also want the cognac so bad! FYI, they seem to be on sale again on amazon:

@pregnantbee: I looooove mine so much. So comfy. The bottoms are slippery at first like reviewers say but once they get scuffed up, they're better. I say go for it! hehe

Don't forget about Ebates too! 4 % back for Amazon and looks like Nordstrom is 5% back.

@MamaMoose: so they're pull on? Can you get them off yourself? I only ask because there have been occasions my husband has had to pull boots off for me.

How was the personal shopper? What else did you get?

@hilsy85: they run a little tight. confession: I actually have 3 pairs of these boots. the first pair (black) I have in a 9, which is what I normally wear, and they fit perfectly; the second pair I also bought in 9, but they were really tight. due to crazy circumstances (I wore them on a hike in Iceland and they got stained with crazy Icelandic lava/mud and in trying to get them cleaned, they ended up going from cognac to a dark brown), I bought a third pair (cognac to replace the now-dark brown ones--I love the cognac color!) and got them in 9.5 since the second pair of 9s felt too tight. I'm really liking having the bigger size now.

Amazon is going to hate me I just ordered 4 pairs of these boots and intend to return 3 of them with their free returns policy....but I don't know if I need an 8 or 8.5 and regular or extended calf.

    Guys.

I have a nordstrom store credit burning a hole in my wallet. (a good amount, but not enough to bring the total down below $150.)

I have two pairs of tall boots: one black leather and one kind of a grayish brown mushroom colored suede.

    I need the brown.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

@mrs. wagon: Yes, you need it. Join the club. Maybe consider it your delayed pump gift?

@yin: dahhhh. ok maybe over the holidays when the grandparents are in town and we can go out on a date, I'll stop by nordstroms... if they're still on sale and have my size, I will consider it fate!!

@septca: @nana87: @MamaMoose: ok maybe a silly question but do I need to do anything to these prior to wearing? I read the leather guide on frye's website and it just says to clean with a cotton cloth and use their weatherproof dressing or spray. Is that what you do?

  28. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@mrs. wagon: those are the exact same two pairs of boots I hVe! And the same reason I need these frye boots in brown
