Costco or Amazon S&S?
I strongly prefer the Bounty Select-a-size or something comparable.

i just got a huge order of paper towels, which is funny 'cause i only use them for blotting meat while cooking and cleaning cat vomit, everything else i use cloth. anyway, i ordered on amazon. kleenex viva are my fav
$34.38 2x12 giant rolls= 24 giant rolls (36 standard rolls)
-$6.88 for subscribe & save
-$5 coupon
=$22.50 (plus i pay sales tax which was $1.41, so my total $23.91)

@Mrs. Bird: Ooh, I have used Kleenex Viva before, they are good! I'll look at those.

@Pancakes: looks like the $5 coupon is gone now, but there's a $2 one and if you like the select a size, it would be $21.94 after the coupon (if you have amazon mom & subscribe to 5 or more items for the month) for 24 big rolls= 36 standard rolls or $0.61/ standard rollhttp://www.amazon.com/Viva-Paper-Towels-Choose-Size/dp/B00347AO34/ref=vp_c_A1AJ3Q873ZKKNV_1_0_img?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=hpc

damn @mrs. bird, I love your calculations. I usually do Costco, and I have no idea if its actually cheaper. I don't use a ton of paper towels though (DH on the other hand... ugh! pet peeve!)

@psw27: mr. bird & i fight over his paper towel consumption, too!! he thinks they are for drying your hands or using as a napkin (we have TONS of kitchen towels for drying your hands and we use cloth napkins)! i have been known to hide them to curb his usage i admit i got the # for my order off my amazon receipt, haha. i find it's easier to compare stand size rolls though, so i added that
@Pancakes: i just looked on the costco site & unless you have some amazing coupons to use there, even the bounty basic are more (and i find them to be crappy)

@mrs. bird: you need to teach a class about saving $$. seriously.
Ever watched the show Extreme Cheapskates? As absurd as they can be, some of them actually have some good tips! haha.

I don't mind the costco ones and typically try to buy when they are on sale.

I'm not sure since I haven't ordered paper towels on amazon and don't have a costco membership, but have you tried Target's up and up brand? They are comparable IMO and have select-a-sizing. They're affordable (I hate that I don't rememeber off hand) and often you can find a coupon on target.com OR use cartwheel.

It seriously drives me nuts @mrs. bird. I have seen him take 5-6 select a size sections to dry his hands... we have towels for that! I usually snatch them out of his hands and save them for later and then he calls me crazy. He is so wasteful with them!
I might have to look into Amazon since it seems like Costco isn't that good of a deal!

@KJPugs: Yes, that's what I have right now and I do like them...I guess I need to try to actually keep track of the prices when I'm in the store.
