Just the pocket on the front. The options pocket is just customizable for different prints. Otherwise it looks the same to me.....even tagged as part of the 'original collection', and all specs are the same.

Saw a question asked about this on ergobaby facebook page. The ONLY difference between options and original is the changeable cover! $70 is a great deal!! Wonder if I can xonvince someone to buy me one for my bday next week?? Ha

Sorrycharlie: fwiw, my son loves the ergo with the infant insert, even in the summer, and I use it even more in the house than outside at 1 month old. Its worth the monies even if they dont love it forever....though I hope they both do.

I think I'll be using the Ergo during the warmer months so I think I should get the performance? On the other hand, it's never warm for that many months in New York. I wonder if the options carrier is good enough.

@regberadaisy: My LO is four months old and I've been using the Ergo since about two months with the infant insert. The infant insert is hot, hot, hot! It made us both sweaty when the weather was warm. I only use the butt pillow portion with him now. The material is pretty thick and if it's hot and humid where you live I think I'd go with the sport since it's supposed to be lighter. It never gets much higher than 80 degrees where I'm from so we're pretty comfortable with the options Ergo.

@Mrsdaredevil: I justed checked Amazon to compare the reviews and a few ppl wrote the performance isn't as comfy as the original. I haven't checked the reviews for the sport yet but I think I'll stick with the original/options.

I have a performance (we live in FL). I love it and have never really gotten hot wearing DD in it. However, compared to the other ones I have seen, it seems more stiff. The other ones I have seen though are the organic ones that have been washed a lot so that may have a bit something to do.

@regberadaisy: in this thread, @mrs.jacks mentioned that her DH wears the performance ergo & that it fit him better than it fit her because he has broad shoulders & is tall. i think like most things, it depends on the user, some are better fits for different people.

@regberadaisy: The sport is the lightest weight one they have. It does seems less bulky than the performance for sure. My brother has the sport so I've seen it. His comes with a bag but I think he got his in Asia. We got the performance as a gift and I would have been happy with either one.
