DD really needs new sneakers - we've been faithful See Kai Run buyers since she started wearing shoes, but they seem to get so dingy / the soles are worn in less than 2 months. I'm looking for a new brand and hopefully something on sale! She's a 6 right now.

@Mamaof2: Stupid question but what part of the store do you find them in? I can never seem to find them in ours! Are they with the girls clothes or in the shoe dept?

I can second the Stride Rite ones at Marshalls, I buy two pairs at a time when I find them in my son's size. I also buy regular sneakers, New Balance or Saucony on Zappos.

@Anagram: I have no idea what kind of soles, ha maybe that is why the ones I buy stink? I just want something that lasts, she's 2 and RUNS everywhere.

We've had good luck with Tsukihoshi sneakers. DD had a pair of the Maru/Baby03 model that lasted her from May until she just outgrew them. They still look almost new, and her only other pair of shoes during that time period was a pair of Keens, so they got plenty of wear. I've seen them on sale at Amazon and 6pm somewhat recently.

@Smurfette: Yea I have no idea what she is doing to them, but the soles literally fall apart on the edges and the canvas doesn't come clean in the wash anymore. I'm wondering if daycare has a fight club I don't know about

@HappyBaker: ha! I use Lysol Wipes to clean the sides to get the marks off but I don't ever wash them. She is on her 2nd pair of the silver ones and I bought them on sale in the next two sizes cause they are perfect for day care, goes with almost everything.

@Smurfette: I actually HAVE done that (dried them in the dryer)! Xander likes to jump in puddles and we don't have rain boots for him, so I've had to dry them between outings before.
ETA: But now I own more than one pair of sneakers for him, so we don't have to do this anymore!

I got DD some Stride Rite sneakers on shoebuy.com during their fall sale for 25% off which I think is rare to find stride rites marked down that much without buying 2 pair (BOGO 50% off).

We just got DS a pair of Nikes at the outlet for $12!!
We usually buy on sale online, Nordstrom Rack, etc.
SKRs were a fave when he was younger, now we like regular toddler sneakers from the athletic brands, he's 22 months.

I found my daughter's size 6 sneakers cheap on Amazon from the Momo baby brand. They were only $20 and nice flexible-sole shoes. Shoemall sometimes has good prices (and good cashback on ebates) on Stride Rites. I try to get shoes that have the American Podiatric Medical Association seal of acceptance ( they have a list of brands on their site, like Stride Rite, SKR, Momo, etc)

A friend of mine swears by the Tsukihoshi shoes that @rattles: mentioned. And I just got a notification from Pregnant Chicken that they're having a big sale right now.
