before i post any deals on the new board, how do you want them divided up (for the most part)? a new thread for each deal? a thread for mom & dad deals, one for baby deals, 'ISO', and another for 'other' deals? other suggestions?

Eta: I got so excited I forgot to answer the actual question... I really like new deal/new thread except in the case of things like coupon codes for retailers that constantly issue them like Shutterfly or the Gap. For those I'd like to see a master thread and we can just go to the most recent thread to see the latest weekly code.

New deal, new thread. Old deals will expire so they will get thrown down the list. If it a current one it will be at the top. Less scrolling. We can search anything specific and ongoing. Maybe a thread title protocol might help, like Mom and Dad: hotel stay. Then put a sticky at the top with the protocol.

@MrsCB: hahaha, i had nothing to do with that! i could have lived happily stickied at the top of the gear section! and i LOVE when other people chime in with deals i'm a little nervous to post on the new board, i like when they're all together because then i don't feel bad if no one comments on each one, but a whole bunch of threads with 0 comments is gonna make me feel sad, especially when i can see how many people viewed the thread but didn't comment. haha, i'm sensitive like that!

Separate threads! I think there should be subsections of "deals" that have: mom & dad, baby, household, and ISO

I know you post a lot of deals, that's a lot of threads!! Maybe we could just do a weekly thread, i.e: deals week of 8/18/13 title and post there for a week? That way old deals will still "go away" without scrolling through each deal in a separate thread!

@Emsmems: yeah, I'm thinking a separate thread for each deal is a bit excessive. The weekly idea is good. Or divide it up into categories. If the thread is being updated, it will be at the top!

I think a little bit of both. Some deals are so big that they need their own thread but I can see how it can be easier to look for deals if they were categorized into certain threads. Also, it helps users who subscribe to threads.
I don't have kids yet so I like a mom/dad deals thread.

@mrs. bird: are you going to start setting up some threads? I have a few deals I wanted to share...
I like Mom & Dad, Baby, ISO and a Home category! If you set them up I'll sticky them to the top of Deals board.
Oh and there should def be a Black Friday one and closer to November a Holiday Gift one!

@locavore_mama: I think those sound great, otherwise we're starting a million threads and the deal haters might get annoyed. How about we start those general threads, but anyone that wants to share a deal can post it there or start a new thread if they think it's a great deal that needs its own thread. We can always change it later if this ppl aren't happy with it.
