I saw that the site was paypal-activate and not just paypal so I was too skeptical and chickened out on trying it. I hope it worked for people, though!

never mind - I clicked on the original link and saw this updated note - so that's why most didn't get it -
“This offer is only valid for customers who received a direct communication from PayPal Inc. or a paypal.com offer. Offer is valid only on purchases of $6.00 or more.”
