I think 2T may be my stopping point for this reason. Her favorite color changed in the past year And she refuses to wear pants (guess what I bought a lot of last year?), only dresses. As she gets older I also lose track of what goes together and will find myself with orphan shirts that don't go with anything (since they were on sale) and have to go buy something to match just so she can wear it, defeating the purpose of buying in advance.. So my advice is to not go too crazy with it. He is in 12 months right now, so I keep an eye on 24 months/2T. I bought some things from Baby Gap in both 6-12 months (for springtime) and 12-18 months (for next fall/winter). I'm hoping that since I mainly bought separates, they'll be pretty flexible in sizing, and nothing I bought is TOO tied to a specific season (jeans, a skirt, pjs), and we live in a climate that doesn't change too much throughout the year. I do wonder if it's a little excessive to have things stashed in her wardrobe that she won't wear for about a year, though! Worst case scenario, I guess I'll just leave the tags on and sell them to someone else if I was way off and they never get worn.</p> <p>Do you shop "ahead" of your LO's current size to get good deals on the clothes you want for him/her? How many sizes up from their current size do you buy? Are you worried about the potential of the clothes not fitting at the right time? </p>
