Oh do I ever. I have two gals, who were born in opposite seasons, so I am currently stocking up on next fall items for the older one and carefully selecting things for the younger one for next fall as well. Have almost everything needed for the winter/spring and summer. I love to know that I have things tucked away :)

I have stuff about 2 sizes ahead, but not bought by me. Sawyer is bouncing around in sizes a little unpredictably, so I will shop closer to the time he needs it, even if is costs me a little more.

I am so glad to hear that several of you are buying up to 2T for bubs still in the oven - it makes me feel slightly less crazy :) :)

@T-Mom: Really good points about styles changing for girls and strong willed toddlers refusing to wear what you've bought. I think 2T may be my stopping point for this reason. My kiddo is definitely opinionated already (this morning she figured out how to pull of her hairbow to eat it instead of wear it, haha) so I imagine we will have some wardrobe battles in the years to come.

@Baby Boy Mom: That's exactly how I started buying so far in advance...we got SO MANY things in sizes up through 3-6 months (next size up), and she has stayed in the itty bitty sizes much longer than expected. So since I can't justify buying more things in those sizes, but I'm eager to choose some things myself for her, I have just bought bigger.

I do, but usually only about one size ahead. The thing is that we have plenty in the next size already and I feel a bit ridiculous buying things a whole year in advance, so I've been holding off recently.

Nope, LO grew so quickly he's in 6-9 month clothes at 4.5 months old. I'll probably start once his grow slows down.

I don't. I used to but I realized that whenever I buy things people always give me hand me downs like the next day. So now I just wait until I really really need something, otherwise I'll probably just get hand me downs so no need to spend my money.

I have been doing this a lot for DD since she was born, I only buy one year ahead since trends change so quickly for girls.but now that she is older, it has backfired. Her favorite color changed in the past year And she refuses to wear pants (guess what I bought a lot of last year?), only dresses. As she gets older I also lose track of what goes together and will find myself with orphan shirts that don't go with anything (since they were on sale) and have to go buy something to match just so she can wear it, defeating the purpose of buying in advance.. So my advice is to not go too crazy with it. I think boys are a completely different story due to less variety!

Yes, I try to buy clothes on sale for the next year. He is in 12 months right now, so I keep an eye on 24 months/2T. If there is something I really like, I try to buy it in bigger sizes too.

I made the mistake early on not buying in the right seasons- long sleeved for summer, but soon realized the need for a different strategy.

LO is still baking in the oven and I've shopped ahead up to 2 y/o. I like a bargain and try to buy things that aren't too season specific because I won't know when she'll actually fit them.
I'm not worried about it and figure I can always sell stuff too if they still have the tags on. I say go for it!

With holiday sales already cropping up online, and being stuck indoors due to crummy weather, I decided to shop for some bargain priced Christmas and baby shower gifts for others....and of course ended up finding deals on clothes for BabyEllie that were too good to pass up - oops!

She's currently almost 5 months old, wearing mostly size 0-3 months. I bought some things from Baby Gap in both 6-12 months (for springtime) and 12-18 months (for next fall/winter). I'm hoping that since I mainly bought separates, they'll be pretty flexible in sizing, and nothing I bought is TOO tied to a specific season (jeans, a skirt, pjs), and we live in a climate that doesn't change too much throughout the year. I do wonder if it's a little excessive to have things stashed in her wardrobe that she won't wear for about a year, though! Worst case scenario, I guess I'll just leave the tags on and sell them to someone else if I was way off and they never get worn.

Do you shop "ahead" of your LO's current size to get good deals on the clothes you want for him/her? How many sizes up from their current size do you buy? Are you worried about the potential of the clothes not fitting at the right time?
