@Mrs. Chipmunk: I tried couponing and I failed miserably. I went to the Albertson's you're talking about, and they only allowed double coupons on 3 items so it was a max of $3 more dollars off.

But yes, the coupons in the Sunday paper are different than what you can find online and they are different than the ones that come during the week in the mailbox.

Also, in order to follow the coupon blogs and stock up on things, I found that you would need several copies of the Sunday paper which I wasn't willing to buy if I didn't know what I was going to get in the coupon section.

Quite honestly, I found couponing really time consuming and because I wasn't very successful, I gave up on it.

@Mrs. Chipmunk: I'm in the PNW too (Oregon) and I never can seem to print coupons (and I've been told by our tech guy that the printing programs can lead to viruses) so I just use the Sunday paper. I also use Just for U like @dojo mentioned and I use to follow the krazy coupon lady on facebook, but it became overwhelming ;)

@Mrs. Chipmunk: I can't answer your question, but I do want to suggest downloading the favado app. I live in Seattle and it has all the local stores. It will tell you all in-store sales for your local grocery stores. It's one app for you to see the deals. It an easy way to get the best deal with coupons.

I dont like to spend more than $4 for a case of soda and I can quickly see which store I need to go to to get the best deal.

@Mrs. Chipmunk: I've tried (not that hard... I admit) to coupon around here but I find that most of the time I can't find coupons for the kind of things I want.

I have the most luck 'couponing' at Target and Safeway since I can access their store coupons on my phone easily - plus they both have their savings with Cartwheel for Target and Just for U (or whatever they call it) at Safeway. We don't get the paper but I usually check the RedPlum mailers and other distributions that we get.

I have printed coupons online but often I end up just wasting a lot of paper. :-/

@Mrs. Chipmunk: companies put a print out limit (per day or total max). Some websites reset their coupons and some don't once it reaches the max limit. There are couponing websites that are dedicated to a specific store so it would be worth it to check it out. I shop mainly at Safeway and Walgreens and live in the puget sound area. You can also check out printable smartsource coupons from other stores such as target, walmart and Safeway.

I tend to check redplum, smartsource and coupon.com. The ones available in the Sunday circular aren't always available online. You will notice that a lot of the time coupons in the paper that week usually coincide with that week's sales.

Check your store's website. A Lot of them have their own coupons you can double up with manf coupons.

Do you use coupons.com? I think if you are printing off of the company's website, they probably max out after a while since they don't want to make it available for that long? OR, they save your cookie and max you out (that's only if you've printed before)?

I live in the Northeast, but I do find that the coupons in the papers are different than coupons online. And stores are stricter these days with doubling coupons. I shop at Target mainly since you can stack their coupons (from their website) with regular manufacturer coupons.

Don't give up! I don't extreme coupon but def find it helpful if I just take 20 min each week to sort through coupons and make a shopping lists to utilize them!

so i'm looking more into couponing now. i've always thought if extreme couponing was possible, my mom of all people would be able to do it. she's collected coupons for as long as i can remember and nothing ever makes an appreciable dent in her grocery bill. she's from canada.

so couponing in seattle, i'm realizing that "doubling" is not something that our state really does (with the exception of perhaps albertsons....but the one closest to me went out of business, go figure). doubling sounds like a store will match a manufacturer's coupon for the sake of bringing people in the door, yes?

so fine, no doubling. but here's my frustration. i have a few things that i buy all the time. chobani yogurt. mountain high yogurt. today i found a coupon for Franz bread. whenever i try to go print any of these, 9 times out of 10 i can't.
here's what i get today:

We're sorry, but we are out of coupons.
Please visit our website for more information.
http://www.mountainhighyoghurt.com

the Franz website hung for a long time after submitting my email address and then went to a blank page

i'm pretty sure i've printed coupons from this website before: http://www.chobanichampions.com/Coupons
says: Oops, there seems to have been an error! Try again.

does anyone else have printing woes?

second question: i search through the coupons that i get in my free newspapers that comes to my door, are the coupons in the sunday papers that much different than what i can find and print online (assuming i can print them?)
